Unkindly pairs

When I got my half frame negatives scanned by the photo lab they came back as paired images. Two frames per image. Sometimes the pairing works out, other times, the photos will be unkindly paired. When you never planned for the photographs to be viewed this way it makes me think about similarities and the journey from the first to the second shot.
